My portfolio dropped in October.
That same portfolio still paid me $13,627.
And the part that surprised me most: my projected income for the next 12 months barely moved.
So which number matters more? The one that went down, or the one that showed up?
This is my October Income Report. Real account, real money, real decisions. I’m a former executive who retired in 2023, and I live off my portfolio income. Every month, I share what’s working, what isn’t, and everything I’m doing to build my income snowball in public.
Quick disclaimer: I’m not a financial advisor. This is my portfolio and my decisions, shared for education. Always do your own research before putting your hard-earned money into anything.
One more note. I pulled these numbers Monday morning with the market open, so a few figures have already moved. Don’t hold me to the penny. The direction is what matters.
First, the full picture
Every month, I share my income portfolio. The high yields, the weekly payers, the big monthly checks.
And every month, someone asks some version of the same question: “Rico, isn’t that way too risky?”
It’s a fair question. Here’s what I don’t always say clearly enough.
